I can feel the lazy days of summer tempting us and the flutter of 23 week baby kicks in my belly. Memorial Day weekend brought on summer like I can’t remember when, with its sunshine, swimming, and barbecues. We had a great long weekend with our girl and both sides of the family taking time out to lounge and be together. With summer setting in, I am thinking about two things; getting into the house and the impending arrival of our new little babe. Hopefully we will have a couple of months to enjoy summer in the new house, get settled and prepare for the arrival of our baby girl. With summer in mind, I put together a little playlist that has been getting me into a poolside mood. I have been listening to it on repeat and introducing Eliza to a new variety of my favorites. She was really digging Steve Miller Band earlier today.
The house is really coming along now. It has been amazing to see the framing go up, concrete get poured, and the roof begin to be put on. Over the next few weeks, we will have the plumbing and HVAC completed, as well as the electrical. Then its on to the insulation and drywall, siding and painting and then finishes. There is still so much to do but I can feel the end getting closer.
Here is how the front elevation has changed. The old house had have small walls built on the roof in order for the trusses to sit at the right height. Seeing the pitched roof for the first time was such a crazy sight!
A look at the change of the back elevation. Man are we excited for that covered patio!
Eliza has already been enjoying the back patio.
The first little bit of paint!
She can find a stage anywhere!

Bedroom hallway (the layout of the old part of the house basically stayed the same but Greg had to re-frame to fix the closets)

I am in love with the french doors from the kitchen onto the patio.
We are so thankful that the house is coming along and looking forward to seeing these last steps come to fruition. When we have drywall, I will have to do a little video tour and really show the layout. Lets hope that is sooner rather than later! MEB
