A collection of the things that made me smile, laugh, cry, or jump for joy throughout the week.
*Michelle Obama’s Speech – This woman is impeccable. This speech brought me to tears and had me head nodding continually. I could go on and on but her words really say it best.
*Finding out that Amos Lee will be in Spokane at The Fox Theater at the end of November. I could listen to him on repeat, which I basically do. If you don’t know about him, here you go. I couldn’t decide which song to post so this is the one that made me fall in love with him back when I was 15. Every song is wonderful. He could sing the phone book and I would listen to every name and number.
*Home tour of Meg Ryan’s Loft – This place is seriously gorgeous and incredibly stylish, as is she. Traditional, eclectic, stunning. My favorite part is how they just throw in that there is a portrait of her, painted by John Mellancamp, on her wall. Like that is a totally normal thing.
*Booties I just ordered from Nordstrom. I had ordered a pair of oxfords and a pair of booties. I decided I hated them both and attempted to combine both styles by ordering these. Quality over quantity wins again.
*Diane Rehm Show – Wednesday featured two economists with opposing views and reminded me that there are still smart, competent people in the world that know what they are talking about and can actually compromise. These two have completely opposing economic views but they agree on things like money for infrastructure and especially education. They both expressed the idea that an educated population is the greatest thing we can do to spur economic growth and that investing in that is key. Listening to these two gave me some hope in the midst of my growing anger and negativity over the current state of our country.
*Working on my headstand because I’ve heard that to be a real yogi you have to go upside down every day… Mine is not pretty.
*Finding Newport Brass and wanting all of their faucets for our new kitchen.
*This awesome soup that I found on Pinterest and made for a family gathering. I doubled it because I needed a ton. It was very yummy and perfect for the rainy, wonderful, fall weather that we are having here.
*Johnnyswim’s new album “Georgica Pond” being released. I’ve been streaming it on NPR all week. I discovered these two right before I had Eliza and during the first 6 weeks of her life, their music was our soundtrack. It seriously got me through hours of crying, both Eliza’s and mine.
*Eliza starting to talk so much more! She is communicating so well and is getting to be so much fun. This moment right now is my favorite stage so far. She is so happy with herself and so hilarious. I just can’t get enough of her. Especially when she says, “I Wuv Woo.”
