A collection of the things that made me smile, laugh, cry, or jump for joy throughout the week.
*Mom Crush Monday – I came across this newish blog just this week and I love what she is doing with the aesthetic and the content. Her writing about co-parenting is real and raw, she is working to empower women and moms in particular, and she and her daughter are just freaking adorable!
*My New Camera Lens – I got a new Nikon 50mm lens for Christmas (thank you Mom and Dave!) and I am obsessed! It is a stationary lens that is more for portrait photography and I had so much fun with it at the coast.
*Parson James – “Waiting Game” This song was literally on repeat on the way home from the coast. I could listen to it and his voice for forever! Sometimes I fantasize about being his backup singer… hahaha
*”Hipsters Broke My Gaydar” – This New York Times article cracked me up, and is totally on point.
*”Moonlight” – As soon as I see La La Land, hopefully soon, I want to see “Moonlight.” I heard the two guys responsible for it on NPR and then read this New York Times piece and both caught my attention. The story of how the movie came together is completely fated and then content is striking.
*Adele – I don’t know what went down with Mariah on New Years, but I do know that the way Adele handles a sound issue is magnificently awesome. She is so damn good!
*Advice From Some Old People – Mom’s always teach you to listen to your elders… If this isn’t the perfect reflection for the New Year, I don’t know what is.
*”Uncle Dresses Like a Boss to Meet Newborn Because First Impressions Matter” – This guy is awesome.
*One Hour Dinner Rolls – These are so freaking good. I have made them too many times in the past few weeks. They may be solely responsible for the extra poundage I just put on..
*Alice and Ames Kids Clothes – Eliza’s Christmas Day Dress was from Alice and Ames and it is probably my favorite thing I have ever bought her. The quality is excellent and it washed up so beautifully. I love that it is so soft and could definitely be dressed up or down. Love love love!
*Watching these two girls go from snow to sand together and have such a blast. They have so much fun and I can’t wait to watch them grow up together! MEB
